What type of construction works are you involved in?

Housespec builders specialises in all aspects of domestic constructions including new homes, renovations, additions and unit developments.

What sort of guarantee/warranty do you provide?

As experienced builders, we are committed to delivering an excellent result for our clients. Our guarantee includes a full ten-year structural warranty for your peace of mind as well as a 12-week maintenance period.

What about plans and permits?

You can provide your own plans or Housespec can arrange all plans and permits required for your development through one of our design partners.

Is a contract required between the builder and the client to undertake building works?

Every building project that we undertake for our clients will be based on a standard fixed price HIA contract detailing the scope of works and specifications.

How much experience do you have in the industry?

We have a total combined experience of over 60 years and have dealt with a large and diverse range of projects.

How do we pick our products, finishes and colours?

We have a network of affiliated retailers for you to choose your colour scheme, tiles, accessories, bathroom fittings, kitchen appliances, floor coverings and finishes. However, you are not limited to our suppliers should you wish to nominate your own products. If you require assistance to ensure your finished product looks great, we can arrange for an appointment with a professional interior designer.

How do we keep in communication during and throughout the building process?

We keep our clients in the loop via regular phone calls and email updates. We also try to schedule site meetings along the duration of the build.

How do I know how much my project will cost to build?

The accuracy of our quotes will depend on the amount of information provided to us, we can provide an estimate based on a sketch plan or a full quotation once full working drawings and all relevant documentation have been completed.

Do you have relevant insurances to undertake building works?

Housespec builders are insured up to $20m public and products liability insurance. Every project that we undertake will have full insurance taken out in the owner’s name; this is to provide complete peace of mind to our clients. We also have a policy to only use insured sub-contractors to undertake our work.

Are you a registered builder?

Yes, we are a registered builder (registration Domestic Builder – Unlimited 36633) and a member of the Housing Industry Association (HIA).

Where are you based and what are the areas that you serve?

We are based in Mitcham and we serve the surrounding areas of Melbourne Metro and the eastern/south-eastern suburbs in Melbourne. You may view the list of areas that we serve, however, we are open to discussion to get to where you are.
